Relationship Counselling

Rebuilding trust, connection, and understanding together

Life can be challenging, and there are times when a relationship needs support to navigate through difficult moments. In relationship therapy, the focus is on identifying and breaking the problematic communication patterns that often lead to misunderstandings or conflict.

Relationship therapy is about rebuilding trust, understanding each other’s needs, and creating an environment of mutual respect and support, so you can move forward together with a stronger foundation.

My approach

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic, person-centred, and gestalt therapy, alongside my Gottman Method training (Level 3), to help couples understand their patterns and build healthier ways of relating.

By listening deeply and creating a collaborative environment, we’ll work together to find the right path forward for your relationship. Every couple’s experience is unique, so sessions are tailored to your specific needs and goals.

If you’d like to read more about the patterns that often show up in relationships, I write regularly about communication and conflict in relationships on my blog.

What is the Gottman Method?

The Gottman Method is an evidence-based approach to couples therapy, developed by Drs John and Julie Gottman through decades of research into what makes relationships succeed or struggle. Rather than relying on theory alone, it’s built on studying real couples over time to identify the patterns that predict both breakdown and lasting connection.

At its centre is the idea of a “Sound Relationship House”, a framework covering the building blocks of a strong relationship, from knowing your partner’s inner world, to managing conflict constructively, to creating shared meaning together. In sessions, this translates into practical, structured tools rather than open-ended talk alone: understanding the specific patterns (such as criticism, defensiveness, or withdrawal) that show up in your relationship, learning to repair after conflict, and rebuilding the friendship and trust at the core of your relationship.

I trained to Level 3 in the Gottman Method, and draw on it alongside my broader integrative approach, so sessions combine practical, research-backed tools with space for deeper emotional exploration.
